Duffel produces 1, 2 and 3 prizes in the CC Zutphen
Prior to the weekend the weather for Pommeroeul promised to be bad. But as a pigeon fancier you always hope that the weather won't be as difficult as predicted and usually that's the way it turns out. Saturday was as forecast and we had to lay over till Sunday. The Sections that did release on Saturday encountered difficult conditions which resulted in many empty perches that evening. The next day, Sunday the weather conditions were far from ideal and it was decided to bring the birds back to Duffel. The birds could finally be released at 14:15 hrs.
We had 175 pigeons entered many of which were sent for training. We were uneasy as we waited for the birds, knowing the results of the previous day's release, but the returns were excellent.
The wind on the course was mainly North to North East
The first three pigeons arrived as follows:
1. 09-1833298 16:36:15 1145.39 mpm
2. 08-1100860 16:36:18 1144.98 mpm
3. 10-1273324 16:36:27 1143.77 mpm
In the CC Zutphen we flew against 1291 pigeons and placed 1st 2nd and 3rd and had 23 prizes in the first 100.
Having entered 175 pigeons we had only a few behind and we are very satisfied with the result.
